How to choose
For compact work: DEWALT has the shortest published head length of these three. Check the complete tool-and-battery size for your workspace.
For demanding drilling: Milwaukee offers AutoStop bind-up protection and a manufacturer-rated 1,400 in-lb torque figure. Torque figures across brands are not a substitute for standardized independent testing.
For existing Makita owners: Makita XFD14Z is a logical model to consider if you already have compatible 18V LXT batteries and a charger.
For first-time buyers: Compare full kits as well as bare tools. The cost of batteries and a charger can change which package makes sense.
